Given my new found interest in running I bought myself a Garmin Forerunner 301 . Standard me thing really, got a new hobby, need new toy to make it more fun.
If you do any sort of regular running or cycling, get one.
Pulse rate, GPS, view your route in Google Earth and more stats than you can shake a stick at it.

Nice gadget, but is it actually motivational in any way? Does it make you want to get out there and pound the streets for longer (time and distance)?
I should imagine it costs and arm and a leg :-)
What's wrong with a good old-fashioned pedometer and 10,000 steps per day. Easier on the knees than running and a lot cheaper...

It does for me. I like to see exactly how far I've gone, be able to compare it with last time, what my heart rate was like, how fast I'm actually going, etc, etc.
I'm pretty much an anal geek like that :-)
