The Today programme on Radio 4 today carried an interview with David Soul (star of Jerry Springer: The Opera) and Stephen Green (from an organisation called Christian Voice) on the topic of a charity performance of JSTO to raise money for Maggie's Centres , a cancer charity.
Christian Voice had "suggested" to Maggie's Centre that they don't accept the money as it will offend Christians who support the charity and may impact the donations that they make.
That, I don't have too much of a problem with. They have an opinion and voiced it.
What I cannot accept is that they threatened to protest outside the centres if the charity accepted the money. A Christian organisation protesting a cancer charity!!!! How utterly unbelievable and ridiculous is that? I thought the Animal Lib crowd and Operation Rescue were bad enough, but this really does sink to new depths. At least the AL and OR groups are protesting at peoples ACTIONS not just because they don't like swearing and Jesus in a nappy.
Do these people really think that their belief is more important than saving peoples lives? Is their God not big and strong enough to look after him/herself?
